They come with advanced features like mapping that help you navigate around your home and remember where furniture is. They can also increase suction power to clean up surfaces that are dirtier.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba from iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that is effective on both plain flooring and low-pile floor carpet. It has a decent suction and can clean up most debris, though it isn't able to handle bigger debris such as rice or sand. It also does a decent job of cleaning pet hair however it isn't immune to tangling like premium Roomba models such as the I6 or j7.

The Roomba 694 is easy to use. It features three buttons on the top cover. 'Clean,' which launches a cleaning session and 'Dock' that puts it in its charging station and "Spot," which initiates an individualized cleaning. It can be controlled via a smartphone application that allows you to schedule cycles, stop/start them and adjust settings. You can also connect it with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum is a bit slower than others, but it's still able get into the most crevices and corners. It comes with a large dust bin that is ideal for reducing the frequency with which you need to empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which allow you to program the robot to stay out of certain areas, or even stop cleaning completely to stop it from becoming stuck.

Although it's not the top model in its price range however, it's superior to many other options. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694, and it's able to clean low-pile and bare carpets. It also has a more durable battery and a cleaner route. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, costs less over its lifetime and charges faster than 694.

You should also consider other models from the iRobot range, like the v7 or the 981. The v7 and 981 are more expensive but have significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, both on low and bare pile floors. They also have a larger dirt compartment, charge faster, move more easily, and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot with a budget does a good job on hard floors and carpets with low pile. The combination brush is able to reach the edges and corners and then automatically increases suction as soon as it spots carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning dirt from mid-pile carpet.  robot mop  for docks and the self-emptying feature are great features. If you wish to alter the floor level or set no-go areas, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated functions, however it does not have no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing navigational system results in superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, though it is prone to get caught up on rug tassels, and its iHome speaker allows you to operate the robot by voice commands.

In our tests, the IQ was able to handle pet hair with ease, removing an impressive amount of debris from bare floors and fair amounts on medium-pile carpet. It was a little less effective on shag carpet, which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust embedded in the fibers. It was able to navigate the legs of chairs, small spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a bit slower on floors with no flooring but it quickly recovered and performed better than other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dustbin, a longer battery life and is more adept at navigating obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can deal with sticky debris. The iRobot is, however, is better built and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion application. It can continue cleaning from where it left off even if the battery runs out before it finishes. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which can be a big plus for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't one of the most feature-rich models, but it does offer powerful cleaning power at an affordable price. It's a budget-friendly option for buyers who don't need a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. The robot is able to last for up to an hour. It comes with the remote control, cleaning tool and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim and sleek, and features a tempered-glass upper deck that resembles the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a nice aesthetic contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy11S was excellent at picking up larger particles and fine dust on hard floors. It struggled to deep clean high-pile and medium-pile carpets. The device is prone to bump into people and furniture in its course. However, it can detect these obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud ring when it comes across an obstacle. Then, you can manually guide the device around the obstacle and restart it.

Another excellent aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the type of floor and level of dirt. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you want it to go.

If you don't have much furniture in the room you want to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy can spend 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned to.

Edge Cleaning is another option that limits the time spent on each surface to just 20 minutes. This will maximize battery life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner by cleaning edges and corners.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robotic vacuum and a top performer on carpet. Its performance is also exceptional on bare floors. It can remove rice and other fine debris effortlessly. The suction power doesn't decrease as the dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design capture allergens and keep your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.

It's not as powerful as pricier models, but it's still excellent for dealing with stains and deep cleaning. Two front cameras provide a live image feed on your smartphone, and it features one of the top obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen. It has a large bin, a long running time and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.

Contrary to other robots the Complete C1 can switch between two powerheads, a standard one and a turbo head to suit different types of floors. The turbo head is great for carpeting that is high-pile and low-pile, while the standard powerhead is great on unfinished floors and light rugs. It also features an automatic height adjustment system that enables it to adapt to various types of flooring without manual adjustments.

This model comes bundled with a SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle hard floors as well as carpeting of medium-pile. The motor can also be easily moved and reach difficult spots. It has five levels of surface adjustments and an off-brush switch to avoid hairs getting caught in tangles.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll, an UtraClean mode that goes across the same area three times to ensure the most thorough cleaning and a self-emptying bin that can be emptied with the touch of the button. The sound level of this model is higher than other models. However its powerful motor of 1,200 watts and durable construction justify the extra cost.

If you're willing to pay a bit more then the Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-round canister robot vacuum that performs better on carpet than the Classic C1. It is more effective on all kinds of floors and is built more securely and comes with a HEPA filter.
